China Lake South Airfield

About the Project

The South Airfield Projects at China Lake consist of five buildings, an advanced warfare apron and an extensive site/civil package to replace structures damaged by an earthquake in 2019. Hensel Phelps is self-performing structural concrete, including a tilt-up operation of 260 panels. The construction consists of the Hangar 2 and Hangar 3 Replacements, Integration Laboratory, Air Operations and Tower Facility, Aircraft and Rescue Station and Warfare Apron complete with parking and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Multi-Level Security Hangar.
